KENNY PIEPER •   BURNSVILLE, NC

Kenny Pieper creates a diverse body of work blending the history and craftsmanship of centuries-old Italian glassmaking with just a hint of a contemporary quality.

His simple, graceful forms and patterns are a mix of traditional technique and experimentation. Pieper uses a variety of chemicals, melting and mixing his own colors — a rare palette of vibrant red and gold. Delicate weave patterns and crackled finishes complete his elegant yet functional pieces.

Pieper received his BFA degree from California College of Arts and Crafts. He has exhibited at the Center for Visual Arts (CA) and the Fayetteville Art Museum (NC). His work is in the collections of the Corning Museum of Glass (NY), the New Orleans Museum of Art (LA) the Hickory Museum of Art (NC) and the Asheville Art Museum (NC).

Kenny currently works from his studio in North Carolina.

“My work is a celebration of traditional techniques, opulent colors and classical forms. ”
