Earth Day - Bryant Holsenbeck Book Event

Come celebrate Earth Day with gallery artist Bryant Holsenbeck!

Bryant will be reading an excerpt from her new book 'The Last Straw: A Continuing Quest for Life without Disposable Plastic,' followed with a Q+A and book signing.

Books will be available for purchase at the event through local bookseller Malaprops. In addition, we will be donating 10% of ALL art sales that day to the Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Bryant Holsenbeck, an environmental artist in Durham, NC, who has worked and is known internationally, makes art out of stuff people usually throw away. After her realization that there is no "away," that there is only out of sight, she resolved to create beauty out of trash. She has been making art out of recycled materials ever since, in an attempt to draw people's attention to how much we throw away and to encourage individuals and communities to be better stewards of the environment.

Blue Spiral 1 gallery's main floor (38 Biltmore Avenue, Asheville, NC 28801). This event is free and open to the public.
