Forging Futures: Studio Craft in Western North Carolina

In 2007, The Center for Craft, Creativity & Design and Blue Spiral 1 partnered to present Pursuing Excellence, the first survey of contemporary studio craft in Western North Carolina.  This seminal exhibition was shown across two locations and included a publication documenting the rise and prominence of studio craft in the region. Now ten years later, CCCD curator Marilyn Zapf and BS1 Gallery Director Jordan Ahlers are partnering again, revisiting the original premise of the show with an updated list including other artists helping to define the region today.
