Coralie Tweed finds her inspiration in nature. Her vibrant pastel, oil and gouache paintings capture the light and shadow of ever-changing atmospheric conditions. Creating a kind of visual poetry, her mountain ranges, low country marshes, forests, and streams come to life.
Coralie Tweed received her BA and MFA degrees from East Tennessee State University. She spent a year studying painting at the Sorbonne and the atelier Le Grande Chaumiere in Paris. Tweed's paintings have been exhibited extensively throughout United States, including the National Museum of Women in the Arts (DC) and Wellington House (VA). Her work is also in numerous collections including the Reece Museum (TN), Hunter Museum of American Art (TN), Knoxville Museum of Art (TN), Mint Museum (NC), Tennessee State Museum, Bank of America (NC), Blue Cross/Blue Shield (TN), First American Bank (SC & TN) and the Opryland Hotel (TN). Coralie currently works from her studio in Tennessee.
