Visions from Black Mountain College (1933-1957)

On loan from H+K Gallery, Blue Spiral 1 presents a group exhibition featuring the works of historically significant artists associated with Black Mountain College. This show will be on display throughout October, coinciding with the annual ReVIEWING Conference hosted by the Black Mountain College Museum + Arts Center.

The exhibition includes over 20 selected works from renowned artists such as Josef Albers, Sewell Sillman, Fannie Hillsmith, Gwendolyn Knight, Cliff Harmon, and others. Also on display, will be works from Blue Spiral 1 represented artist Frank Hursh, who attended Black Mountain College in 1949.  All pieces will be available for purchase, with a percentage of each sale donated to the Black Mountain College Museum + Arts Center to support their mission and legacy.

Join us for the opening reception on Friday, September 5th, from 5-7 PM at Blue Spiral 1, as we celebrate the lasting influence of Black Mountain College artists on contemporary art. The exhibition will run until October 29th.
