This exhibition showcases the cultural significance of tattoos, highlighting their ability to bridge tradition and innovation, personal expression, and visual storytelling. Featured works range from realistic paintings of tattoo shops to sgraffito tattoo imagery on clay.
Adding an interactive element to the exhibition, Steve Zimovan of Remember Me Tattoo will be live tattooing in the exhibition space of the Lower Level Gallery during the opening reception.
Steve Zimovan is a tattoo artist with over 12 years of experience, specializing in bold and timeless American Traditional work. As owner of Remember Me Tattoo in Asheville, Steve has built a reputation for clean, precise, line work, rich color saturation, and designs that honor the roots of classic tattooing. Drawing inspiration from early 20th century folk art, his work reflects a deep respect for tradition while maintaining a unique and personal touch.
