Patti Quinn Hill reimagines traditional basketry through a contemporary lens, meticulously crafting rhythmic forms from painted archival paper. Utilizing 100% cotton heavyweight paper and metallic thread lashing, Hill applies a range of surface design techniques to both sides of the paper before cutting it into strips for weaving. Her intricate process extends beyond the initial weave, incorporating curled embellishments layered atop the structure. Each finished piece is sealed with a hand-brushed UV polymer varnish, preserving both its material integrity and visual complexity.
Opening Reception: Friday, May 2nd (5-7pm)
