In conjunction with our current exhibition "Bill Killebrew + Ellie Richards", Blue Spiral 1 is hosting a guided exercise in being present with art. After a brief introduction of Bill Killebrew's paintings, participants are invited to immerse themselves in a contemplative session of observing the art around them; A questionnaire will be provided to supplement this time of silent reflection. Afterwards, participants will gather to share what they have discovered. The activity will be led by Charlotte Donlon. Charlotte Donlon helps her readers and clients notice how art and other good things help them belong. Charlotte is a writer, a spiritual director, and the founder of Spiritual Direction for Writers™, Spiritual Direction for Belonging™, and Parenting with Art™. Her essays have appeared in The Washington Post, The Curator, Ploughshares, Catapult, The Millions, Mockingbird, and elsewhere. Her first book is The Great Belonging: How Loneliness Leads Us to Each Other. She’s currently writing her next book, Spiritual Direction for Writers®, which will be published by Eerdmans in 2024.
