Blue Spiral 1 is excited to announce our New Year exhibitions! Four new shows will open Thursday, January 8th, with a reception from 5-8pm and run through February 20.
An exhibition of Southeastern artists, all making their debut at Blue Spiral 1, New Times Three 2015 is the annual exhibition featuring works in a variety of styles and media by regional talents. This year's event showcases Emily Arthur (printmaking), Joshua McNolty (printmaking/drawing), Douglas Miller(painting), Nicholas Raynolds (painting), Deborah G. Rogers (ceramics), Sasha Schilbrack-Cole (printmaking), and Jean Yao (basketry).
Another artist showing for the first time at Blue Spiral 1 is Mississippi painter Marcus Michels whose figurative works demonstrate a sophisticated color sense. A collection of these can be seen in a solo exhibition in the gallery's small-format gallery.
Our showcase gallery will feature long time Blue Spiral 1 painter, Scott Upton and ceramicist, Michael Poness. Our lower level gallery has a collection of new works by five gallery artists.
