Join us Friday, June 8th for our summer installment of Eat Your ART Out! This charity dinner benefits the NC Glass Center and will be held at Blue Spiral 1 gallery. Each ticket includes a hand-blown drinking glass from an artist at the NCGC.
Chef Jacob Whitman of Native Kitchen and Asheville-based Chef Dan Silo will be creating a 5 course dinner. Each dish will be paired with a glass of wine provided by the Biltmore Estate Winery and inspired by a work of art from our "Glass Takeover" exhibition. Prior to the seated dinner a cocktail hour will be held in our Upper Level Gallery surrounded by the glass inspirations behind the dinner.
Limited seating available. In addition to a portion of ticket proceeds going back to the NCGC, 10% of all art sales from the evening will be donated. Join us for delicious dishes, inspiring artwork, and giving back to the local arts community!
The North Carolina Glass Center is a non-profit, public access glass studio providing daily educational offerings & demonstrations; representing the work of the studio’s artists and instructors in the NCGC glass gallery. Established in 2016, the NC Glass Center serves as a voice for the North Carolina glass community and provides access to the material for anyone with an interest in learning. The studio and gallery represent over 20 regional artists who teach and create in the studio weekly. The NC Glass Center is dedicated to education, exploration and collaboration in all forms of glass and is proud to partner with Blue Spiral 1 for this exciting event.
*** Eat Your ART Out! is a bi-annual charity dinner hosted by Blue Spiral 1 art gallery in downtown Asheville. Each winter and summer, the gallery hosts a dinner that pairs with and gives proceeds to a local non-profit. Blue Spiral 1 works with local chefs to prepare the dinners and each one is a "blind" menu where guests do not know what they will be served until they arrive, adding a little mystery to the event. The theme and other elements of the dinners vary depending on the non-profit and the time of year.
Blue Spiral 1 started Eat Your ART Out! in January of 2018 with the hopes of creating strong relationships with community organizations. By cross-promoting and networking, Blue Spiral 1 is able to spread awareness about these dinners to an audience that each non-profit may not have had access to prior to the dinner. This event brings a unique art focused dining and charity centric experience to Asheville.
